There are moments during our lifetime that we personally define where we were when these historic events occurred. Today, April 7, 2022, we have witnessed the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. We will not forget this day and we will forever remember how we felt. We will remember the goosebumps and how our throats tensed up as we experienced this monumental vote continuing as each U.S. Senator voted.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is clearly qualified. During the hearings she repeatedly demonstrated that she is a pillar of strength. She rose above the bigotry that was demonstrated by her opponents, and her composure even served to win over three Republicans who cast affirmative votes making this a bipartisan confirmation.
Our country has moved one more step forward towards our quest to truly be a republic of equality, liberty, and justice for all.
It is also notable that our Vice President Kamala Harris presided over this bold and riveting vote. Therefore, we must acknowledge President Joe Biden for selecting these two phenomenal women to fill such crucial positions. We must now step-up and make sure that we praise President Biden for his strong and transformational leadership
